We invite you to a unique cheese-making workshop at the Gartner Tourist Farm in Studor, Bohinj. Under the expert guidance of a local cheesemaker, you will learn the traditional processes of making cheese and herb butter.

Historia Bohinj: Guided tour of Bohinjska Bistrica

We will visit the Ceconij’s park, the railway tunnel, the military cemetery in Ribra, the Zois Castle, the Bučar House and the Historia Bohinj museum collection, which is dedicated to preserving the memory of the events and people that shaped Bohinj in the 20th century.

Cooking art From Bohinj: We never know everything about štruklji and žganci

We will prepare several types of štruklji and žganci, serve them “savoury” and “sweet”. We will learn interesting tricks of preparation and fillings.⁣ ⁣ The workshop is run by Katica Mikelj and members of the Bohinj Rural Women’s Association.⁣

The Bohinj market takes place every Saturday from 8 am to 1 pm in Bohinjska Bistrica, offering a variety of local produce and products. Find Bohinjsko/From Bohinj items, local dairy, organic cheeses, eggs, seasonal produce, fish, honey products, homemade salami, baked goods, and handmade crafts.

Cultural Heritage – Preserving Tradition in Bohinj, opening of the exhibition

The exhibition features documentary photos showcasing intangible heritage preserved in Bohinj, created in collaboration with local heritage holders and recreators. It’s open daily from 8 am to 3 pm as part of the European Heritage Days and Heritage Week 2024.

A fun, educational, and creative themed trail, about two kilometers long, where children can meet nine fairytale characters from Bohinj folk tales and engage in various nature activities that stimulate all seven senses.

Woodworking workshop for children with Marjan and Urška Cesar

Children will explore the craft of joinery, learning about different types of wood and their properties. They will then create their own wooden product, fostering creativity and practical skills in a hands-on environment.

Mostnica Gorge and the Voje Valley are among the most beautiful natural attractions in Bohinj. You can admire the crystal-clear water and boldly shaped rocks, enjoy the diverse flora and fauna and the cultural landscape that has been nurtured by the locals over the centuries.

Participants will explore the life cycle of seeds, learning about their functions and uses. This hands-on workshop takes us from planting to sprouting and to our plates, emphasizing the importance of seeds in our food systems. ⁣

A spooky night on Soriška planina

We’ll carve pumpkins, roast chestnuts, make spooky hot dogs, drink worm cocktails, hot chocolate or cocoa with marshmallows, hang out by the fire, read spooky fairy tales and more and more. ⁣

Mrcina Ranch – programme for children

Did you know that Icelandic horses grow longer hair in autumn? Join us at the ranch to find out even more interesting facts about them. and get a chance to pet them and comb their hair. ⁣
